AI in XR
Row Beyond VR is a proof-of-concept Virtual Reality Rowing Simulation built within a 24-hour period at the 2025 DJX XR Design Hackathon, Noida. Developed under the persona of a fitness trainer, the primary objective was to create an engaging, low-cost virtual rowing experience. This project demonstrated rapid ideation, spatial design proficiency, and the ability to integrate core mechanics necessary for fitness-based VR simulations.

Extreme Rapid Prototyping:
Successfully conceived, designed, and built a working VR simulation prototype from scratch within the 24-hour hackathon timeframe, demonstrating exceptional skill in time management and efficient asset utilization.
Persona-Driven Design:
Tailored the core mechanics (pacing, rhythm feedback) and visual environment to address the needs of a fitness coach persona, focusing the experience on measurable cardiovascular and technique training goals.
Core VR Interaction Mechanics:
Implemented the fundamental mechanics necessary for an immersive rowing experience, including mapping the rowing stroke to the controllers and creating responsive, real-time feedback that syncs the user’s physical motion with the virtual environment.
Low-Fidelity Spatial Design:
Created a compelling and effective virtual environment using streamlined assets to maintain optimal performance while ensuring a visually engaging and non-distracting space suitable for repetitive fitness activity.
The main challenge was the immediate integration of complex physical input (the rowing motion) into the engine while working under extreme time constraints. A key learning was prioritizing the fidelity of the core interactive loop (the stroke mechanism) over aesthetic polish, ensuring the simulation was functionally viable before the submission deadline.
